An Evening With the Burj Al Arab

Casey's finally off work for the holidays - woot! - and we celebrated by hanging out with the Burj Al Arab.  It's a little too fancy schmancy to hang out inside, so we just hung out with the beach around the beauty.

We live at the BEACH! :)

Casey's favorite pastime, collecting shells.

Casey's becoming such a good surfer!
Actually this isn't him, but it will be someday.  The waves in Dubai are one step above too puny to ride.  We're going to try out our surfing skillz soon.

Check it - I'm wearing a cardigan and I'm still chilly!  December in Dubai is perfect.

The Burj Al Arab, one of the few 7 star hotels in the world.  One of my friends stayed here for two nights thanks to her very generous friend.  The bill was 35,000 dirhams, about $9,528.  Yep, pretty sure we'll just keep admiring this beauty from the beach and keep our $9,528 for a trip around the world or a car or anything besides two nights in a hotel.

It's pretty, though, isn't it?  Apparently the designer was sneaky enough to build a giant cross on the side facing the sea.  That seems a little cheeky for someone designing a building for an Arab country, but it's quite beautiful to look at.

(4 days 'til London!)
